![]() ![]() There, we have the stark contrast between the lower class (Fanny Price’s family) and the wealthy Bertram family at Mansfield Park. “Mansfield Park”, I felt, was the strongest Austen film in terms of social commentary. And needless to say, this was her umph-teenth time re-watching everything. I watched “Sense and Sensibility” for class the week before and “Emma” out of curiosity. We only managed to watch “Pride and Prejudice”, “Persuasion”, “Northanger Abbey”, and “Mansfield Park” (she had to leave right before the scene where Tom falls dangerously ill). Both of us have read all the novels (at least I think I have…o.O). Hence, to humor her (and being a lover of Jane Austen myself–just not to her extreme), I agreed to have a Jane Austen movie marathon day last Saturday. ![]() Whilst I have trouble keeping track of which male lead was in which Austen novel, she can shoot of the names of all the actors and actresses and their role in each version of the all the Jane Austen films and drama series. My best girl friend is a Jane Austen fanatic.
